Date: 10/11/12 6:36 AM Looking for a womens pinafore (I believe the US term is 'Jumper') pattern. I have a plain red 20's style cloche hat and I've set my heart on a red tartan dress to go with it. There seems to be so many variations on a theme about. Any pattern you would particularly recommend?
I want to incorperate tartain (apparently that's "in" at the moment and a bit of 20's/downton abbey chique)

Date: 10/27/12 9:10 PM Look at "Bluebird's treasures " on Etsy...she has a simple vintage jumper pattern similar to what I made years ago in a tan plaid. You only need a simple style to show off the plaid. Loved my jumper ! |

Date: 10/28/12 5:30 PM Jumper patterns are hard to come by. They were very popular in the 80's (I was a teacher and wore them all the time). You might check vintage sites and Etsy maybe. Your outfit sounds cute-do you have the fabric yet? I am wondering where you might find that. I haven't seen anything even similar here. |

Date: 10/29/12 6:41 PM Khaliah Ali has two pinafore/jumper patterns out now: Simplicity 2232 and 2566. Both are princess-seamed.
What jumps to mind for a tartan fabric is Butterick 3191, which is unfortunately out-of-print. See a pic here. ------

Date: 10/31/12 5:45 AM This Simplicity jumper pattern has a fitted bodice with empire seam and two skirt options. Or, if you're looking for a looser silhouette, this New Look pattern might work (see first view on the left).
Whatever pattern you choose, be sure to wear your fabulous hat in the photos!  |

Date: 10/31/12 9:06 AM I like that OPP wrap jumper, I had a similar pattern in the 90's. It could be fastened with a kilt pin and button rather than a tie as your fabric is a tartan. ------
