Date: 10/12/12 6:12 PM Does anyone know of a good site to learn tips and tricks for making ballroom and Latin dresses? I can do all the basics but I would love to know specifics, like tips to apply crinoline to hems and the like...I am finding it almost impossible to find the info I need! |

Date: 10/12/12 8:00 PM Hi Hazel! I don't have a lot of actual instructions on my bog, but feel free to ask questions about pretty much anything. I am on the 7th Standard gown and I have done one Latin for a friend.
I started out with this site: Laura Lagassa and went from there. She has a ton of good info, especially the stuff about how to make a circle skirt. The math would have killed me so I am glad someone has it all laid out.
I am about to put crinoline on my hem, so I can take photos of anything you need to see. I have only applied mine either straight or gathered, not done any where it is turned over yet where it encases the skirt hem.
Tell me about your dancing! We dance silver and gold Senior III (55+ here). We do the younger senior levels but rarely adult. Those kids under 35 don't need us to get in their way on the floor. Getting to Blackpool is on our wish list, but we have to work ourselves up to Championship level to dance there. Friends did it last year and had an amazing time. ------ http://bgballroom.wordpress.com to follow the progress on my next ballgown. |
