What color do you wear?

For years I have been trying to incorporate Navy into my wardrobe. All of my shoes/boots for winter are black or brown. Whenever I find a navy shoe it isn't the 'right' navy.

What color shoe do you wear with Navy?

Black (men wear black shoes with navy suits every day). Or you could wear bone or winter white, or a pop of color: burgandy, red, green, etc...
Imho, not brown.

Thanks, Changma. Black is my preference and I didn't think about what men wear!

I've been on a search for the perfect navy blue shoe and have come to the conclusion that it is just not popular right now.

I've read that you can combine navy and black if it doesn't look accidental....as in black shoes with a navy outfit. I've made it a rule that if I wear both together it has to look planned i.e. at least two items of 'matching' color. So with jeans and a black print top I could wear a navy scarf and shoes. But not only a navy scarf or only navy shoes.

I ended up buying shoes that aren't the 'right' navy but going with the idea that things don't have to be matchy matchy. At least they were cheap.

Navy is hard to find and difficult to match in terms of tone. I wear black shoes but also find grey or gunmetal to be a nice accent.

I like burgandy or green as well. Camel works especially if you are wearing navy and gray. Black and navy are an 'in' combo these days so black is certainly fine.

I have found that burgundy, olive, bronze, or a deep gray are also good shoe colors for coordinating with a number of pants colors, including navy. Naot and Dansko have some colors that are a bit different than what you find at the mall.

I have always worn black with navy. Years ago my mother told me to always have a pair of black & brown shoes as they would coordinate with everything. I stopped attempting to buy brown before the end of college as I wear cool, dark colors all of the time.

I wear mostly jeans, but I think this applies to many Navy outfits: If my shoes match my bag, I don't worry about the rest. It cannot be accidental when the bag matches the shoes.

On the other hand, if my best denim bag is appropriate for the occasion, I can wear jeans, carry the denim bag and have my shoes coordinate with my top.

I have also seen shoes matching hair color and the bag coordinating with the dress, and it turns out to be a great look.
