From what I've been researching, I'm finding out that most people looking for that perfect buttonholer are really liking the vintage Singers. There are even a few tutorials on youtube. I just found one in a classified ad that I'm fixing to go look at, a Singer #15-91. From the pictures, it's a beautiful, non-scratched up vintage 1950 machine, with cabinet. I have been invited to go check it out. If my husband can have a massive gun collection, shouldn't I get one more sewing machine? I don't have that many....could be worse, I used to have that money pit hobby known as "horses." And my sewing machines have never broken any of my bones.

Welcome to Enablers Inc.

After switching and swapping through all the buttonholers I prefer a professional attachment on a zig zag, in my case, a straight shank Pro on a Stylist. But you should buy the 15-91 if it's nice. And show us a photo once you have it, there's a rather large thread here of machines that follow people home.

Consider it a crossover. Singer manufactured guns at some point in history...

Don't confuse accessibility with ease; just because anybody can pick up a needle and thread doesn't mean sewing quality garments is easy.

I bought it and it's lovely. Not a scratch, bought it from an old timer singer repairman that now sells older models that he cleans up and services. It's in a gorgeous cabinet with matching stool and includes the buttonholer and other attachments. It works like brand new and looks it, too. I'll get a picture up somewhere so y'all can see it. It's an interesting contrast with all my other machines, I need to do a video.

If anyone is interested, here is my youtube channel. I just uploaded a video of all my machines, including my new vintage Singer.

I agree,
My husband has his Hunting Man Cave, with more Archery Stuff than the store i swear, and I have my sewing Room, I have a Brother ULT sewing/embroidery Machine. and Not 1 but 2 of Bernina's 170 and 175 Sewing/ Embroidery machines. and I have a Commercial 15 Needle SWF Embroidery only for doing Custom Aparrel Orders.
So I say if it make you Happy Get it, you can not take anything with you, when you leave this world, so get it and play with it now..
