I am thinking about buying a serger machine. My current choices are Babylock 450, White Speedlock 1600 or a White 2000. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Babylock is known to be the best serger mfg.

What do you plan/hope to do with a serger? That will affect your choice...

I would probably add Juki to that list. Well made and people seem to love them.

Juki makes the sergers for Bernina.

Since I think they all would be older and used by now, by someone else, or several people before me, I think I would just test sew on all 3, and pick the one I liked the best, while doping that and most important, just choose the one that just everything on it, still worked just fine for me, as I don't think they would even all be the same now, as they were once upon a time, when they all used to be brand new instead at all.

I guess if I saw all 3 at the thrift store or something like that, right in front of me there, had to choose and I really got to thread up and sew on them (which I would always do before giving my money for something used and if I did not know if it even worked anymore or not) and they all cost the same used like that there, (lets say $49 or something) and they all seemed to work fine just as is, then if I was undecided, I would probably pick the Babylock 450, if I also liked it the best, for the same amount of money, just because when brand new I think it may have really cost several times what any of those other Whites did.

But I think the most important thing is to just test sew on any of them, and make sure everything still works there. Or at least that is how I would feel about it.
