I find the video to be creepy and uninspiring....

Thanks Crust. Rick Owens does some beautiful long and short coats, and I'm not a dress wearer but I thought some of the Ann D dresses were quite nice (loved the high neck dress at 3:50). I see purple will be a big color and the leather accents/leather look thing will continue. Couldn't see the last vid.

Edit: Saw the Yohji vid. I'm a big fan of his layered looks. The red sash paired with the jacket at 8:05 moved so beautifully. The backless sweater at 9:05- sexy. May let a breeze in, but it was gorgeous.

I like the wide open neckline in the last photo here, and also just all about how the dress flows, when being walked in, in that video at 4:12 through 4:41. Also like all the split contrast colors, between the dress, and maybe what looks like a sewn in cape? I had never seen anything of Yohji Yamamoto before. All his outfits there, actually remind me very much of a lot of Erte in the 1910-20's. the flow, the draping, and some itneresting cut outs, and also just how all the draping moves and seems to be weighted by the cut of it.

I was not too personally impressed by just the colors, the model's flat shoes, and the real dead pan faces, but then it's "high fashion" and if they actually looked happy walking there- I think they would probably be out of a job!

Sorry. I couldn't watch much of the first video. It was a bit evil for my taste. It reminded me of werewolves and vampire attire. The second one wasn't much better with a definite lack of color. The last video was O.K., but even if I had the money, I wouldn't buy any of it.

This show reminds me a little of Poiret too, but at the same time you can feel a Japanese aesthetic sensibility at play here - Yohji's sense of proportion and cut are quintessentially Japanese and merely informed by Western tailoring, rather than the other way around.

Flat shoes are Yohji's thing, ever since his debut. It has to do with his approach to female sexuality/sensuality.

I think some kitten heels have been released under Y-3, but that's a collaboration with Adidas that has almost nothing to do with the man himself.

That's very myopic. Owens isn't gothic, although it's definitely brutalist. Like a Merzbau interpretation of some Balenciaga couture. It's my favorite show of the season.

I like Ann's approach to color. Her selection was superb and the way it's utilized makes it something special. It also makes it easy to deconstruct and reconstruct outfits since the pieces won't be reliant on one another.

More shows to come, but I'm starting a late dinner right now.

It's not myopic to say that something's not to their taste. The show itself was indeed very reminscent of vampire films with the masked faces, burning torches and industrial backdrop.
However, the clothes themselves if displayed in a different show background without the weird head/face coverings would have had a much different effect.
He has really great craftsmanship, but I'm not that fond of clothes that look like robes and just hang down with no definition.
