I spotted a Lady Kenmore on Ebay in a cabinet. It is a beauty! Carmicheal, California ... was brand new in 1959 it says in the ad. I think it is so pretty! I posted this in Machine Finds this morning but no one has posted about it.
Some of us have been eyeing for this unique beauty for a while. ........ So I thought maybe someone here may really want to bid & bring her home. .....
This is the title of the Ebay listing....

And to think that earlier in the year I used to live 15 minutes from there. Gorgeous machine though. I live too far out in the sticks now. Our "local" Craigslist has had the same 40-50 machines for the past three months and they're all way overpriced. Well at least it keeps me from spending money on them!

She's mine, without the cabinet. I loved the cabinet ,but can't be shipped. Hope she's as beautiful as her photos. Think I might have payed too much. Just have to sell others in my herd to make up the difference.

Congratulations! I'm also the proud owner of a Lady Kenmore 89. They don't seem to come up for sale very often, and yours looks like it's in beautiful condition. Make sure the seller knows how to properly pack a sewing machine. The Lady Kenmore is heavy, and needs to be packed appropriately. You definitely don't want it to suffer any damage in shipment.

Yes, you should be paying no less than $50 for shipping her via UPS. USPS is cheaper. But, in order for her to arrive safely, I would put some restrictions on how to ship.

I would demand -- yes, demand and be willing to pay for, AT LEAST 4 rolls of bubble wrap, and double boxing. Perhaps even some peanuts to put inbetween the two boxes. Ask them to wrap each foot individually and box them tightly, taping the box shut. Same with everything else - no loose cords or foot pedals. ALL wrapped tightly in bubble wrap or at the very least newspaper. But the machine itself needs to be heavily bubble wrapped. I mean heavily. And make sure they put lots of peanuts or styrofoam or the large size bubble wrap both below and on top of the machine. That gets forgotten lots of times, and trust me --- they will throw this box on it's head even if you put arrows on it.

I just shipped a heavy machine. I had the box place make a heavy duty box for the outer box. Luckily I had kept the air bags and styrofoam that stuff comes packed with here at the office, knowing I'd be shipping this at some point. Sure came in handy!!
I'm on pins and needles waiting for it to arrive safely all the way to CA.
Congrats! She sure is gorgeous!!
