It probably depends on what kind of machines you like to collect. If I needed more machines (which for sure do not) and just because that old one is so unusual that way, having the overlocker part of it and on the back of it that way, and I sewed with it first, and it really worked, I might pay that much for one. But I would always prefer to find one that worked at Goodwill store or such, for me there, like more for $25 insteadKeeping in mind I have a real all by it's self kind of overlocker, for main overlocking use. so would not be counting on just that little one on the back of that machine at all either. I think the one on the back of that machine is only a two thread overlock, so even if everything worked, you could not make real seams with it, just more overcast the edges of something with it instead. Also maybe try to find out in advance, if they even make replacement loopers for it anymore, because if they don't, and the looper ever broke, then I think it could not even overlock at all anymore.

I have this machines although when I bought it, it was a New Home. Anyway, I sewed daily on in for 10 years and even had a doll clothes business with it. It is a great machine. I paid $900 new in the 80's. I couldn't afford both a sewing machine and a serger, so I got this. Great machine, sews beautifully. I finally did get a Bernina serger when my doll clothes business got busy. I still have the machine because I do not want to give it away even though I have "graduated" to computerized. If the one you have is in good working condition I think $150 is a good price.

Also, want to say that I would sew my seams, turn the machine around and serged them, and the seams looked every bit a professional as a 4 thread serger. I only finally got a 4 thread serger to save some time because of the volume I was sewing.

I've sewn on a couple when the dealers had a reconditioned. If you've never had a serger it's a nice way to try it out. It's using 2 threads on the serger side, good for finishing raw edges. It is not a serger seam that can hold a garment seam together. Parts are getting harder to find, it uses a top & bottom blade on the serger side. You can always contact dealer first for available parts.
