My own design...two views...one from each end...

Finished the binding today...this quilt used some fabric from my Mom's stash and some fabric I had for years...bought more in 1993 and finished piecing the top sometime around 2005 I think. Binding is from my Mom's quilting stash that I brought home here in 1998 when she passed away. I have watched a million videos and read so much to learn to do that right, and it's not perfect but it's a start. Thanks to so many of you. ------ "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

1 member likes this. Date: 10/21/12 9:01 PM Thanks everyone for the nice words! Gosh....I didn't think people would see it so fast! LTS - the backing is a light varied paisley print cotton from Joann's Fabrics 108" backing array. They don't have many prints, but it really was nice because it effectively hid my quilting mistakes in its pattern! Here it is as on the Joann's site and it does look like this -

My mom was a master quilter and I never had an interest but did start his one...and now i love it. I don't use patterns though - have to go with what I think would look right to me, and I love scrap quilting! Again, thanks! Warbler - you have been just great, and everyone on the QUilting Corner is so supportive to us all, and that is what makes it a privilege to share here. -- Edited on 10/21/12 9:02 PM -- ------ "Be kind whenever possible. Date: 10/21/12 9:58 PM Mufffet, I love it, so cheerful. I am crazy about the center strip which is echoed by the binding, so it all pulls together. And the quilting is really nice, you must be very pleased. ------ Barb |
