I just got some really nice cotton flannel from the ColorMeFlannel Yahoo Group. Some I made up this weekend into pajamas for my DS. The fabric is very crisp (makes noise, like cotton, when you maneuver it) and soft, thicker than the stuff you get at JoAnn's and higher quality. Really like it.

One piece I bought is a leopard print. One look at it and I thought it was too nice for pajamas. I think I will try Vogue 8689 which is a nice shirt pattern.

I just wanted to ask what people do with their cotton flannels when not making pj's? Can you make a skirt? Any pattern ideas out there?

I LOVE flannel. I wear lots of flannel shirts in winter. Flannel quilts are lovely in cold weather.

I had a lovely flannel shirtwaist dress in the 80's. It was a plaid shirt type pattern and very comfy to wear.

I made view B (white) out of a yummy red/purple flannel a few years back.

It is one of my favorite cold weather shirts.

Marec - that is a great idea to use a pretty pattern for flannel. I thought a flannel shirt had to be a flannel shirt!

With the hope that pattern is still in print, what is the pattern #? That could be a great TNT.

thanks -

If I'm not mistaken, that's the pattern being discussed in Halleyscomet's thread about wrap tops (in Patterns).

I think leopard print flannel would make a cute woven pullover--which I cannot find a patten for at the moment, of course, but something similar to this:

When I was in grade school, I had a flannel dress that neighbors brought me from England. It was wonderful to wear in the winter and I still remember it!

I agree, I think it's my favorite fabric as well.
Can't think of anything more comforting than a quilt made from it.
