To Buy or Not to Buy Lady Kenmore with frozen cams

The machine is stuck at straight stitch. I looked inside and nothing moves when you turn the stitch selection dial. There doesn't seem to be any broken gears or cams. How can you unfreeze the cams without damage? ------ Lalaland
