Date: 10/24/12 4:16 PM I have this pair of dress pants that I love for the most part, though I'd like to tweak a few things if I were to make them on my own.
This is the pair that I love:
Awesome Pants
what I love the most is the waist. They are a pull on pair of stretch pants and there is absolutely no bulk in the waist. It's completely flat all the way around. These are the most comfortable pants I own (yoga pants not included! :p) Has anyone seen a pattern out there that has this kind of waist?
TIA! -- Edited on 10/24/12 4:17 PM -- |

Date: 10/24/12 4:26 PM StyleArc has several that look similar. The Wendy pants look very close, to me.

Date: 10/24/12 4:44 PM Vogue 1051 is a lovely pattern. Nice details on the pockets and a great, modern fit. I get a lot of wear out of my 2 pairs. |

Date: 10/24/12 5:08 PM Thanks for the input! I will check them out.
I just ordered Vogue 1051, I really like the looks of it. It actually has a fly opening though, doesn't it? |

Date: 10/24/12 5:22 PM Do you know how accurate the sizing on StyleArc is?
I am liking some of their pattern (including these pants!), but I'm a little nervous about the single sized nature of the patterns. |

Date: 10/24/12 6:10 PM Stylearc sizing is fantastic. Don't cheat on your measurements; there is no ridiculous ease included. I recommend the Wendy pants and the Linda pants, both of which have been reviewed here on PR.
Edit: When I anticipated needing to size up across the back of one dress design, I did what others have done, and asked Chloe for help. She sent her grading charts for both the bodice and pants. I haven't made the dress yet, but I used her grading chart to size up the waist on the Linda pants. It was easy and the pants fit so well that I ran out to Joann's to stock up on more stretch bengaline. -- Edited on 10/24/12 6:13 PM -- ------ “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” -Robert Heinlein and Ann's father. Where are we going, and what am I doing in this handbasket?

Date: 10/24/12 6:17 PM Oops I didn't read your post properly. It is a fly opening so maybe not what you are looking for, although still a great pattern to have in your collection. Sorry. |

Date: 10/24/12 7:21 PM Hi Karla,
I did just send her an email with my measurements to ask for help. I saw on another thread that someone with 36" hips made the size 6 Fay pants and they were too big. That's the sort of thing I'm worried about. I am also between sizes for the tops as well (broader shoulders, smaller chest, and even smaller arms).
I was at a workshop recently and chose my size for a pants pattern (independent designer) based on my measurements and ended up having to size down again to get a good fit. Only having one size available to work with makes me very nervous about ordering, but I am loving some of the styles. I have about 10 patterns in my wishlist! |

Date: 10/24/12 7:24 PM No problem, Lynz. =) It might not be exactly what I was looking for in this instance, but it's good to hear that I've got a good pattern enroute to me. =) |
