I need suggestions for Fabrics for casual pants other than denim

These are for around the house, running errands where I would normally wear jeans. I am looking for an alternative and not sure wool is the answer. What do you use and where do you buy it?

Date: 10/27/12 2:03 PM Rayon Poly Lycra, stretch cotton twill, Tencel The first two have stretch so closer fit and still sittable and I think you can get stretch tencel also. Don't know where to find them online tho.

It comes in various weights and lots of colors. I once found some at Walmart of all places that was really nice. It didn't need ironing after coming out of the dryer. I made Silhouette yoga pants last winter. Used the Poly/Rayon/Lycra from Hancocks. They go smoothly over my lumps and bumps, are heavy enough to look like "real" pants, are stretchy enough with good enough recovery to stay up on my eggs-with-legs figure, come in flattering wide widths, and wash-and-wear like iron. In fact, I'm going to make a ponte knit jacket so that I have a suit-type outfit. Edit: This ponte knit from EmmaOneSock is probably perfect. -- Edited on 10/27/12 4:06 PM --

It's super nice and does indeed wear like iron...super easy to sew too. I've got more black and espresso on hand here waiting for other projects.

Look for a heavier weight - plain doubleknit is too light sometimes. I recommend laundering inside out and not drying to avoid pills. I also love RPL stretch wovens - I just got some to make a pair of Burda pants!
