Date: 10/28/12 12:07 PM I am looking for a pattern for a jersey knit top. I have just made three Sewaholic "Renfrew" tops with a scoop neck and long sleeves. I really love them and their fit. I now want to make something similar but less casual and more dressy. I own RTW tops that are a wrap style that are gathered at one side. The gathers are more like pleats, not ruching. Would like something like this. Any recommendations anyone? |

Date: 10/28/12 12:59 PM M6564...I reviewed this one. I really love it.
I think you can give any top a more dressy vibe just with your choice of fabric. |

Date: 10/28/12 2:54 PM Christine Johnson #426 Princess Wrap top. It has princess seams and is so easy to put together. It's my all time favorite. Very feminine.
*you may want to raise the neck line...it's a bit revealing. But she will tell you how to do this on her website* -- Edited on 10/28/12 2:57 PM -- ------ Lorri

Date: 10/29/12 9:09 AM I checked out your review and your top looks lovely. I want to use stretch jersey fabric so I don't think this is the pattern for me. Thanks for the suggestion though. |

Date: 10/29/12 9:11 AM Nice tops but as I am pear shaped these would emphesize my hips. So although I like them they would not look good on me. Thanks for you suggestion. |

Date: 10/29/12 9:26 AM This looks like a nice pattern. I have looked at the reviews on it and the neckline on the crossover version seems to differ quite a bit on the made up versions of the reviewers. A few people commented that the crossover part has the wrong placement over the bust. Don't know if that happens if the neck line is raised or whether it is just a body shape thing. I would make this on a regular sewing machine as I do not own a serger, so don't know if this would work well. What is your opinion. Knitstitcher ...... your name suggests you use knit fabrics. Have you any more jersey fabric pattern recommendations? What sewing machin/serger do you use? |

Date: 10/29/12 11:53 AM I love the Jalie tie front top. I've made it 3 times and have worn the heck out of them. It's so easy too and very popular.

Date: 10/29/12 1:00 PM Have you looked at V8534, I almost missed this one myself but it is a nice change of pace for a knit top. I will post a review so that you can see the possibilities. |
