Date: 10/28/12 7:39 PM I signed up to be notified when someone leaves comments on my reviews. However, now I have received several messages about someone else's comment postings. Please correct this problem. Thanks! |

Date: 10/28/12 9:07 PM This is a new feature. If you'd like to turn it off, I think you need to go to account settings. This is what Deepika said about it on another thread:
Quote: when you Edit your Profile there is a section called account settings. Click on No next to "Send me notification when others comments on reviews I commented on".

Date: 10/30/12 3:24 AM I have not written any reviews yet as I am a newish member of PR. But I have commented on other members reviews, Yesterday I received 2 postings regarding postings I made to 2 different reviews and today I received another 14!
What is going on and how will this be rectified. My PM is choking.

Date: 10/30/12 4:38 AM As JEF said, this is a new feature. To turn it off, in the left column of any page under "my stuff" click on "edit profile". On that page, under "account settings" tick the third button - next to "get a pm when someone else also comments......" and then at the bottom of the page click on "save changes" ------ chris

Date: 10/30/12 7:59 PM The feature is not the issue. I DO want to get comments on my OWN reviews...
but instead, I am getting comments on OTHER peoples reviews. |

Date: 10/30/12 9:10 PM Yes, that is the new feature. In the account section, go to personal and then edit.
There are several options there. Two of them are:
Quote: Get a PM when someone else also comments on a review you've commented on?
and,
Quote: Send me site notifications (example daily digest, topic tracker, comments on my reviews) emails
You want to select "not" for the "Get a PM" one to turn off messages to you about comments on other people's reviews.

1 member likes this. Date: 10/30/12 9:11 PM It is a new feature- you are just confusing the two.
When you write your own reviews, you get notified when someone comments on them.
This is a different option. Some people like to get notified when someone else comments on another persons review that they have already commented on.
For instance, let's say that I write a review for a dress and you comment on it. If the setting is turned on then if "Susie" comments on that review as well, you would get notified. Apparently some people follow comments on reviews at times(not me!)
Here is a screenshot - taken from my Profile Page- to show you where to tick the "No" box. Go to your profile page and it will be about halfway down. **don't forget to enter your password before exiting or it will not save!
Hope that helps! ------ Connie Bontje
