My chair wheels! messs!

Any one had the pleasure of digging that out b-4? ------ Drag queen quilter!

I also had lots of dog hair in mine. Took a long time.. a pair of tweezers.. a razor blade.. To be honest I could not get it all out. I was even thinking of trying a hair removal product such as nair or neat or whatever its called to dissolve it all. Needless to say I will be cleaning them more often to avoid this much build up in the future. I have no less than three of those chairs in my sewing room. but have castors on most of my other chairs too.. since I am finding it easier to roll them out and vacuum under them..

It's a whole lot more easy to do that, than trying to unwind and dig the same kind stuck thread out of a sewing machine though! Good flat tipped eyebrow kind of tweezers are probably your friend there. I don't know how to keep from running over and picking up thread in chair wheels, except for maybe try to keep it off the floor? All those loose thread bits might show up better or just sweep up better if there was a slick plastic matt under the rolling chair, like the kind they have in a office, when the floor is carpeted so your chair can roll better. But even if you have a hardwood floor, wayward thread still gets run over and all stuck in those things.

My granddaughters live with us as well as my daughter.My daughter assigns their chores and part of their chores is to vacumn. The 8 1/2 year old takes the back of the house, where my sewing room is located, and the eldest, 10yr. takes the front of the house. I try to sweep up the bigger messes when I make them, although Gabriela makes sure all small threads and scraps of material under the sewing tables are cleaned. I used to have problems with chair casters and thanks to the girls, those days are over-at least for now.

But unlike most of the posters, it apparently did not stick with me to regularly check my wheels. Thanks to your post, I have checked, will clean the 'not so bad' mess, and hopefully remember to regularly check moving forward! ------ Berninas - with a few vintage other makes, love them all

I used several medical tools and my long tweezers from my serger. Two tools I found most helpful were these scissors with a long thin skinny blades and a pair of tweezers that had grippy teeth on the end. I had done it once before, 2 years ago. After this, I did ask my kids for an electric broom for my birthday (they always want to know what to get), so hopefully I will get one.
