After several illnesses in the last 12 years I pulled my Baby Lock ESI-2 out of the closet and bought the PES Transfer System. Now I am just like a newbie. Having trouble setting up the system but the store is going to help me out today so I should be up and running. I do have 2 cards to use for now. I understand you can't get them any more. I am lookiing forward to learning all over again. I will be looking for free designs for awhile so will check out the different sites. I am glad I found this site!

Welcome!
I have been struggling with medical issues for 8 years now and recall how overwhelmed I was by the changes in our machines.
PR has some great information on resources that you will find. If you are a paid subscriber don't forget to search in the Sewing Machine Reviews (that is where the Embroidery Machines are buried) and look for members that own your model or own older models that rely of the cards. You can contact them or post on their reviews to ask where they are getting their cards.

Rewritable memory cards are still available, but pricey. You can get by with just the one that came with the reader/writer unit...if that is what you are referring to as a PES Transfer System.

Set up a folder in the documents section of your computer. As you find downloads, save to that folder.

Most machine embroidery design files will be zipped. These will have to be unzipped/extracted/opened. Wording depends on the computer software you are using. Save the extracted/unzipped/opened file and delete the zipped file once you are sure the transaction was successful.

Be sure the download is within the hoop size of your embroidery machine. If you can download pes or any other format. However, other formats will require conversion to pes. This can be done with a free software (Wilcom True Sizer).

The major question I have is about thread. I have a lot of DMC which works on woven but lousy on knits. I have a few Sulky but not enough colors to do the flowers on the one card I have. What and where can I get the best buy?

What a day! Had to start at the beginning but finall can operate the machine. Now embriodery is another thing I had an older tshirt to practice on. I found out the hard way that you have to hoop the right way or----you embrioder on the wrong side. I can not get the PTS to download for win 7.The lady at the store was supposed to call me yesterday and for what ever reason she did not so I can't use the beautiful butterflies I got in the mail. Hopefully she will get in touch by Tuesday and if I have my voice back I will cakk her. I was feeling bad with a cold and lost my voice so I wasn't feeling well. I put everything away for a few days.

Thanks for listening to my rant and for any information you can give me.

Oh no not another software! This blonde senior has enough trouble with software. I can not use my PTS because it will not download the update for win7. I expected a call yesterday with an answer but it did not come so will call later when I am over my cold and can talk.
