5 members like this. Date: 11/9/12 2:19 PM Well, I had this *rush* feeling yesterday -- I think the election results and some other good news going on in my life gave me some energy I haven't had in a bit -
I made this quilt - all in one day. I dont know if that will ever happen again. But, I think having a high speed machine def helped with the speed of production, too.
I used old, new, recycled fabrics as well as some old clothes.
There is a fuzzy old blanket on the inside - and I quilted it with a simple swirly pattern pretty far apart --
Anyhow - Im really in love with the quilt. I love - love it.

That is a LOT of sewing in one day! I haven't sewn like that since the days when I HAD to.
And I am glad to hear you've got some GOOD stuff happening in your life!!
Did you recently run for office???

Date: 11/9/12 2:36 PM AWESOME! I love the design....love that you recycle and use what you have! Such a cheery quilt. Of course I am nuts about anything with triangles too.
Upon seeing your more rectangular strip quilt I decided to do the two utility quilts I have in production like that - somehow, but probably not too colorful due to the flannel scraps I have.
Carry on! You won't get too cold this winter, and all your present list will be done very soon! :) ------ "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

Congrats .. I don't know how you did it.. it would take me that long just to pick out the right fabrics. You have a natural touch for putting together quilts that just can't be beat.
Portland.. don't answer this if you think its too nosy.. but have you studied design somewhere.. once upon a time perhaps.. if not you may have missed your true calling. |

I did not even come close to winning the election - but, I ran an honest race - did not raise or spend one penny - and did not go out knocking on doors - I ran my race entirely online - and I ran as a gay guy who does drag -- ! I still got 20% of the vote! Im really happy with the results - during the race the incumbent (a very liberal green) did some real talking to my issues and I think some of them - like, trash, street lights and better sidewalks - will really be addressed. Im so happy. I did it.
I got all excited yesterday - It been a long cloudy depressed time at my house - and yesterday it cleared up for a bit and I thought -- "Im ready to challenge myself to a things I MIGHT be able to win and the entire process would be fun" --
So, I thought -- can I do this? ... Yes , it was top speed cutting followed by top speed sewing - and ironing -- and then quilting. ...
I used some of the fabrics that my Aunt had sent me - she gets fabric samples sent to her and so I have all these "new" fabrics that are really cool to work with.
