Date: 11/12/12 8:10 PM Finally getting around to cleaning for the holidays, and when I went to wash my windows I realized I can't get the tape residue off from the tape Xs I had put on my windows. Usually a dab of Vaseline gets sticky stuff off, but not this time! Anyone have any good suggestions?
Thanks in advance. |

Date: 11/12/12 8:56 PM For getting the tape residue off glass, try rubbing (Isopropyl) alcohol or nail polish remover with isopropyl in it. Do not get it near any painted surface as it will take the paint off. |

5 members like this. Date: 11/12/12 9:06 PM I've used a product called "Goo Gone" for years on everything from sticker residue on book covers to plastics to metal....well just about anything non-porous. It's pretty cheap and a bottle lasts foreeeever.
I have a 8 oz bottle (not the big spayer containers, not sure its the same thing). I noticed that Staples also sells a little 1 oz bottle which should still last quite awhile. You only need a few drops.
edit - was just in Jo-Annes and while I was looking at the sewing dodads, I noticed they have Goo Gone 8 oz for four-something -- Edited on 11/12/12 11:01 PM -- |

Date: 11/12/12 11:13 PM Ditto for the Goo Gone or nail polsh remover. Just be careful not to get the polish remover on anything but the glass.

Subject: Help-Cant Get Tape Residue Off My Window Date: 11/15/12 9:13 AM I vote for cooking oil or Goo-gone, and a straight edged razor blade if necessary (buy the kit with multiple blades and a little plastic holder at the hardware or paint store). |
