Well, its only 6 WEEKS TIL CHRISTMAS!!!

There are many ideas on the boards for christmas gift ideas based on the cold weather overseas, but woollen scarves, socks, gloves and blankets aren't very appealing in our hot weather!

So I thought I'd start a thread for AUSSIE CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS!

First on my list is matching aprons for my 2 little nieces and their mum...

McCalls Fashion Accessories M5997... (there are 3 matching sets to choose from, and only $2.99)...

Matching Aprons

Sunhats!

You can never have too many.
All the children I'm sewing for are getting one, plus I'm scoping out patterns for adult ones too maybe?

Would they be easy enough for a beginner??

I often make boxers for my boys to use a pj's from nice poly-satin from Lincraft. I use a Jalie pattern 2326, which I can't find on the jalie site anymore, but there are lots of good boxer patterns if you can't access this one.

I am also right into Nicole Mallalieu patterns and love the coin purse and make-up bag, which can be made in cute pieces of quilting cotton and filled with little goodies.

Looking forward to seeing what other suggestions are put forward.

Check out the Nicole M site for great hat patterns too. I haven't made one but I think they get pretty good reviews.

Hi,

A friend and I are making tea towel aprons, embroidered net throwovers, table runners and placemats. While not sewing related, but to go with the aprons and throwovers, home baked biscuits (we first had to drink the coffee that was in the Moccona jars ).

Reversible circular Christmas table napkins, decorative thread on the overlocker. When you fold them they resemble a Christmas tree. Always popular.

Bib for grown ups. Hand towel, cut out neck at one end and put velcro on it. My girl friend gave me one as I have a habit of spilling water or eggs. LOL Marion
