Mechanical machine with blanket stitch?

Soolip Advanced CA USA Member since 6/18/08 Posts: 2009	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 11/13/12 4:41 PM The 401 doesn't have automatic (i.e. forward/reverse) stitches, so it can't produce a blanket stitch. An Elna Supermatic or 62C with disc 150 produces a convincing blanket stitch. Short of that, play around with your 401's blind hem stitch. It's not really the same, but with the right thread/length/width adjustment it can be really attractive.

The earliest machine I know of with reverse motion stitches is the Elna Supermatic which was making fancy reverse stitches with removable cams in the 1950s. Jennifer in Calgary
