Date: 11/16/12 10:37 AM I just looked at the Janome Magnolia because the shop did not have a HD3000 left in the store. I've seen a video of this machine and read everything on PR and Amazon. However, the last postings for discussion of this machine were in 2011. Has anyone actually purchased this one or used it lately in class?
I don't care about extra stitches and I like the idea of the higher lift on the HD300 as our family has a ton of Korean blankets. |

Date: 11/16/12 11:48 AM I've been waffling, unfortunately even in stores the mechanicals are not stocked as much :(
I posted about my exp at the local janome shop. I ended up being a final straw for the owner and one of his employees.
I still giggle over this 80yr old lady telling me she could make me love a computerized and i "shouldn't be afraid of technology"
I am a network engineer/systems admin for my pocket change after all. ROFLMAO!
I did try the magnolia and student machines, but one wasn't fast enough and the other was kinda jumpy. I'm *hoping* the HD line will be right. I've also looked over several other brands and I keep coming back to janome.
HD3000 has the tangleproof bobbin thingy, horizontal bobbins which if you are blowing through 15 bobbins in a marathon session is important ;)
I could care less about # of stitches. I really only use a few. Straight, zigzag, triple zigzag, and the mock serger stitch.
I bought a serger, but I want to make sure I retain the option on my sewing machine too, for travel or incase I have serger issues :)
I just splurged on dyson and a freezer, so i'm putting off the new machine awhile anyway. I'm pretty sure i'm going to pop on the HD3000 tho. I really wish I could drive it first however! ------ Shan - Incredibly nerdy mom to 2 boys Corran (8) and Quinn (5)

Date: 11/16/12 11:59 AM The HD3000 is a worthy successor to several machines over time in the Janome New Home range - those reviews are all stellar ones as well. I know I have written this before, but here goes a couple to read about:
