What color is yours? Vintage Sewing Machines

Date: 11/17/12 1:22 AM I just got a new vintage viking sewing machine in red so I put together a collage of my colorful collection. Included in the photo are my Singer 66 Red-eye, a green Japan made Super-DeLux by Revere (the copper bottom pan company), a pink Kenmore 352, my turquoise and chrome Morse 4400, one of my four Singer 500a Rocketeer machines, and the new Viking 6570. Not shown is my white modern Bernina 170, the black Singer featherweight, and the Jukie 654DE Serger and the Babylock Coverstitch machine. Honestly, I think my collection is complete, except for the mint green Japan Dressmaker machine for $20 that's currently on a local Craigslist. That Morse is very very nice BLUE! Mine are black... FWs both black, Kenmore 27 is also black with red decals. Wah I don't have a red eye , my 66 is a plain jane. 4 rockateers is rubbing it in for those of us who haven't found the right one yet. Lol! When the vintage sewing machine bug happens, it brings on a lot of new "old" sewing machine collecting. I am really hooked on the oldsters-love sewing on them.

None are anything unusual though the 201 and 401 are in very nice condition in a queen ann cabinet and a blonde cabinet each with the matching stools. I really like sewing in a cabinet set up and can't lift them to use so let's say I have a lot of odd lamp and utility tables that are sm cabinets here and there in the house.

I bought one with fewer stitches that only does a straight-stitch...no zig-zag due to a cracked cam-stack. I keep looking for another one to harvest that part! Aren't they just beautiful!!!! I have sewn on one like yours and they really are great fun!

I have the Morse 4300, same as yours. I also have a Brother Super Streamliner in a bright turquoise and cream...think '57 chevy...a Pink Atlas(faded to peach, but still pretty) and a rose colored Morse MZZ. My Morse 4400 is the very pale grey and the Morse Super Dial is the basic Morse blue with cream..I'm still looking for the raspberry and cream color combo in that one. This made me realize that I need better pictures of my machines... The cam stack has a nasty crack down the middle, but it still works with all the stitches. I know it's going to die some day, so I want to get all the use from it that I can. It sews super fast and makes beautiful stitches. The blue and chrome combo is my favorite.
