I just got back from Joanns. I spent $118 Funny how my counting skills go out the window when I see fabric I like. In my defense $40 of it is for sleeping pants for daughter. But still I didn't plan to spend nearly that much. I thought there was going to be a big line to get in there this morning Yes me and one other person more people came in but for the fleece not the quilting fabrics on sale. I got 18 yards total so I guess that isn't too bad. Will keep this receipt hidden lol. there was one woman there who had 20 bolts of fleece to be cut.

Yeah--that woman with all the fleece--now SHE is the spendthrift Can you imagine all that fleece--what could she possibly be thinking? Like she was going to use that much in her lifetime??
YOU, on the other hand, are a very wise shopper--getting basics like sleeping pants fabric--smart move, I say(probably most of us on PR would say so as well). You came to the right place for feedback. Imagine, thinking you had sinned when you actually made a most stupendous discovery at Joanns--not to mention an early Christmas present for yourself with the quilting fabric. All those wonderful quilts in your future, too. Very wise buying...pat on the back for you

Sounds like a deal to me I have to chuckle about the 20 bolts of fleece. The only time I've ever had nearly that much to deal with at one time, was about 4 years ago. I made about 18 snugglies for Christmas gifts. Didn't want to go near fleece for quite a while after that

she told me she was making blankets. I like fleece but have never sewn much with it. The fabric I got for my dd is I forgot the name of it it's very very soft and has a nap kinda of furry and stretchy.Should be fun sewing not. but not much to making sleeping pants.

I took advantage of the fleece sale - $37.00 worth and thought about buying more. I had a coupon for $5 off a sale of $25 or more but their system was down and no $5 off for me I'm going to send an email and see if Joann's will honor the coupon, but I doubt it. I saw the micro fleece - feels wonderful, but it's $12+ yard and I didn't have a coupon, so I'll have to wait on that one, although Hancock's has their micro fleece on sale so tomorrow it's Hancock's

sounds like you got some great deals!

I have never been to Joann's since I moved to NC, the is apparently one in Charlotte but it's an hour away from me. I don't think there is a tremendous difference between Hancock's and Joann's, and Hancock's is only 30 mins away.

I did get a 10% discount card to use there from Project Linus, I am not even sure what all it covers but I know fleece is one of them. Some of the ladies at the meetings buy LARGE quantities of fleece there when they have sales.

I never undertand all that fleece buying - and it happens no matter where you live - they just sell tons of fleece! I buy it when I need it which isn't often. Someone recently mentioning fleece as batting though, and that is interesting. It is harder for the needle to pierce fleece though in my experience, but you never know - with one of the really good top stitching needles or a microtex it could be great as batting. it doesn't breath though, which cotton does. I do like natural cotton fabrics and batting...yes, you are correct - I get confused thinking about it all!

Good for you - at the bottom of your slip it probably tells you how much you saved, which you can revel in rather than think about the total cost! ;)

I bought tons of fleece ONE time only - our ASG chapter made fleece quillows as a charity project.
Once I was in Hancock's for the Black Friday flannel sale, and this one woman had like 40 bolts being cut. There were women waiting in line to get some after she was done having hers cut, but she told them she was buying the whole bolt! There were some angry women!

You wouldn't have gotten the $5 off anyway those coupons said door busters excluded and the fleece was a door buster. Unless you got other stuff.
