Date: 11/19/12 12:39 PM I washed it with its label still on. Now I have gummy stuff on it. I already tried Goo Gone then laundered it again. Got a lot out but not all. Why did I do this? Was I asleep doing laundry? I don't know but will never do it again.
I want to save this towel because I need to embroider on it. Everything is so expensive - even nice cotton tea towels.
Does anyone know of a laundry product that would take care of this? Save the tea towel! Thanks. |

Date: 11/19/12 3:37 PM Any laundry degreaser should work. Lestoil is one that does work. Sometimes Goo Gone isn't mean for laundry! ------ JanieV |

Date: 11/19/12 5:03 PM My son left the sticky label on a tee shirt and I didn't spot it 'til after it was laundered- I removed the mess with Goo Gone...let it sit a while, then poured some Dawn dish detergent on it. Put it in the washer and now there's no sign of sticky stuff! Good Luck!

Date: 11/20/12 10:20 AM I don't know that I could peel it off because it sort melted in a little from the dryer. However, I will try it if Shout Advanced does not get it out. I got it yesterday - it was reasonably priced.
If it isn't out I will also try the Goo Gone again with Dawn dish soap.
I will let you know. Thanks! |

1 member likes this. Date: 11/25/12 6:46 PM Jr, it worked! My Shout didn't do it. This poor tea towel has been through laundry but is still holding up.
I put the Goo Gone on it, then Dawn (had to buy some), used a soft tooth brush to gently brush it in. Saw a shadow of the sticky stuff and thought it didn't work. It dried and then I didn't see a shadow. Laundered it again...and it is GONE! Yippee! I will always have Dawn in the house. Thanks so much! |
