What's your favorite yoga pant pattern?

They are fitted through the hips, but relaxed in the legs. I made several pairs ( full length, Capri and shorts) a few years ago and think they look very RTW. I also own the Jalie pattern that cabinbaby linked to and will be trying it soon. I am pretty sure they will be much more form fitting and I think I will love the seamed leg. I am sure it just depends on what look you are going for? ------ Raye Ann

I am short waisted and they come up quite high on me, over my waist. I have to trim them down a bit to get them to my waist. They have a better fit through the crotch curve than other patterns I've tried. Kwik Sew 3066 is another nice pattern, but without the flared leg. I haven't tried KS3115 but I've made the Jalie pattern. I wasn't overly taken with the pattern - a bit firm through the upper leg and too flared below it for my liking. The seaming on the back was what attracted me to the pattern. There is no shaping added with the seam so you could easily change another pattern to get the same "look". The pants I made have just been transformed into togs for the refashion contest. Let us know which pattern you decide on and how it goes ------ It's the journey, not the destination that counts

Date: 11/22/12 2:36 AM I also have found the crotch gusset to be invaluable for serious athletic comfort and flexibility; that's probably why most dancewear pants have this feature, as described here on the lululemon site. But alas, I have not found one single tights pattern with a crotch gusset, apart from Kwik Sew 3455 , and it has a big, clumsy square insert instead of a nice little oval gusset. -- Edited on 11/22/12 3:57 PM --

Date: 11/22/12 5:28 AM I like the PJ/Yoga Pant pattern from Lingerie Secrets...you can use the regular or low-rise style...so far I've only made the low-rise version...I'm really short-waisted and find they really have a good fit for me. The pants can be made in three different lengths. They are not a form-fitted style...but not at all sloppy-big either.This pattern does not have a crotch gusset. The pattern is printed on sturdy white paper...sizing is from size S-4XL...Jan Bones instructions are very easy to follow. I did find that the length on the ankle version (the longest style), a little on the short-side...but easy to make pattern adjustment.

I made them now both with and without gussets but I must admit that I don't feel the difference. I think that you can easily transform these leggings into yogapants by comparing the legs with your pattern

I did trim the flare down quite a bit so that the fit in the lower leg was more like loose tights, and made the 2nd pair knee length. For me the close fit in the upper leg was perfect as was the fit through the crotch and waist (size V). I liked the waistband treatment too. Very quick and easy to make and a good way to use up some of the black lycra stretch fabric I've had hanging around for a long time.
