We are making some pot holders and attaching double fold bias tape to the edge. !st we are attaching it the narrow side on the right side of the fabric and stiching in the crease and then folding it over. We would like then to use a zig zag stich. We have a kenmore machine that I got a couple of years ago it is not computerized. Not sure how to set up the stitch and do I use the regular pressure foot or will I need a special one. Really need some help here since we have to make over 20 of these.. It is a Kenmore 385.18221
Thanks guys

It would help if you had an edge stitching foot, in which case you would line up the blade with the folded edge and zigzag away. I have an old Kenmore which I love and it does not have an edge stitching foot. I would use a regular zigzag foot in that case. Make sure you do a few practice samples before you do your your actual binding. Take care in lining up your strip so that the needle is hitting where you want.

I don't know why, but I would be tempted to sew the strip on the back side of the pot holder and do the zigzagging on the right side, sort of a decorative note IMO and you would be able to control the accuracy by doing the final stitching on the right side. Just what I would do in this case but there are many ways to make a chocolate cake. Sewing's no different.
