I am starting some holiday projects, I want to embroider some Christmas scenes on fabric. Is there a good all around fabric I should use? Thanks

What is your end product? It would also depend on the designs themselves and how dense they are. Rule of thumb is usually the denser the design the heavier the fabric.

I am making Christmas cards, the design is pretty dense.

I have used brocade for very elegant looking Christmas cards.

White faux suede is another option. It can appear to look like snow.
