Date: 12/4/12 4:03 PM I have a 3 corner tear AT HANDLE SITE (stress point) on my canvas duffle bag. I would like to try to repair it. My plan...
1. Machine mend stitch on my machine
2. Place large canvas patch over tear on both sides
3. Using my machine, sew back and forth over patch going beyond the tear to totally reinforce it.
PLEASE, does ANYBODY HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS or techniques? |

Date: 12/4/12 5:25 PM I'm about to try something similar to my overstressed handbag. I'm planning to put canvas on the inside as reinforcement, then stitch on the outside in a color matching the exterior. |

Date: 12/4/12 9:44 PM That is what i just did to a co-worker travel camping bag. covered with some same colored canvis and sewed a round and stitched back and forth. It look great.

 1 member likes this. Here's how the military patches parachutes. Not sure if this is applicable or helpful, but I post it in the hope that it is.
There is a written instruction section that goes with this diagram, and I'll post that if you want it, but the diagram makes more sense than the written instruction does. ------
