Janome Magnolia not making buttonholes properly?

It was purchased in April of this year, so it's quite new, and has been gently used, just doll clothes, scarves, fabric purses - girl things. It's my daughter's. She made a buttonhole quite early on, trying out all the stitches, and it worked fine. Now, it doesn't work. I tried one myself, carefully, step by step with the manual. It's step 3, when the buttonhole goes back up on the right side, that isn't working. Instead of being the same nice tight zigzag as when it came down on the left, it's a teeny tiny, messy looking zig zag, not proper at all. Does it sound like I'm going to have to have it taken in for servicing?

I'm sure you did but you never know, it may have been a step overlooked. There is no lever behind needle threader...this machine doesn't have a needle threader. But, as to following the steps, I did. I had the manual beside me and went inch by inch through each step, slowly. Hhmm. I think I probably will need it to be repaired. It should be under warranty still, within a year. I bought it from an online Janome dealer (Sew Vac Direct) but have since found a local dealer within about an hour. I will see about taking it there. Thanks for the tip!
