Advice for metallic stretch fabric
underlining a stretch?

I have a metallic fabric, with slight stretch; it has a lovely drape to it. I am going to make a side draped dress. I am wondering if it would be smart to underline the bodice and short sleeves, to stabilize it a bit? The skirt I would just line. Any thoughts for me?

You could tame the stretch and get some control while maintaing the hand with a soft fusible product. I usually fuse it to an area before cutting out the pattern piece.

If the stretch is "slight, I would enjoy the compfort, but if you feel that it will "grow " when you sew it then yes, underline.

Thanks for the input. I am ruling out interfacing, because the fabric has a crinkle texture to it; I don't want to mess it up! I will try interlining, and hope this one won't end up in the UFO pile....
