Date: 12/7/12 7:42 AM Discovered this little jacket which features a regular raglan style with front zipper and a two tier peplum.
The raglan sleeve jacket pattern is easy enough to come by, although I thought I had seen a peplum jacket pattern someplace ?????
I specially liked that the fabric used appears to be a knit -Modal, cotton, spandex.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions:)

This is definitely an option.
Also wondering if there are any similar patterns around in the Big 4, New Look and Burda ? OOP is OK too.

Date: 12/7/12 8:25 PM I'm pretty sure one of the winter Burda magazines from ages ago had a peplum jacket, with a peplum that went all the way round not just at the sides. If you have back issues of Burda. Probably around 2005. |

Date: 12/7/12 11:02 PM Burda has a free tut on making a peplum. I' d use that along with a raglan sleeve
Top pattern that fits you & just slit the front and add seam allowances for the zipper. Make it shorter for the peplums. Using a knit as shown means no lining and you can stretch the peplums to fit, no fussy tailoring needed. Just note the one unfavorable reviewer who returned the jacket.

Date: 12/8/12 4:55 AM Current Burda 7140 has actually got almost all of it. The raglan sleeves, collarless, (if you want) zip front, princess seaming front and back, and peplum. The only thing really different is instead of a more circular peplum, it has a more flared 7 piece peplum. But you could just put any peplum on the bottom of it, including a circular one, or even if you used the less circular 7 piece flared one, if you put just a more shorter , and circular one on the top layer, for the double peplum look of your ready to wear garment, I still think it would look fine.
I have not made that one up yet, but have the pattern. I think I'm going to make mine in double sided fabric, fake suede cloth on one side, the then bonded to it fuzzy sherpa on the inside.
