I have had the cabinet for about 9 years - a sm dealer was closing and sold me their floor model for a decent price. I have never needed the airlift to go all the way up before. It goes down all the way without a problem (and I had never had it all the way down before), and now that I brought home my new Brother 1250D today, I want to put the embroidery arm on and try it out.

Do they require oil perhaps, or is there a trick to it?
