Date: 12/9/12 0:10 AM It depends on where you're using it. If it's for sleeves casings generally 1/4" or 3/8" is used but if all you have is 1/2" it's fine.HTH

Date: 12/9/12 8:38 AM Not sure I understand. There are severall factors to consider.
Did you mean the top of a pair of pants? Are you making silk panties? silk lounging pants? silk dress pants? Or did you mean a top? The type and size of elastic would be adjusted to the type of garment and weight/texture of the silk you are using. |

Date: 12/9/12 9:41 PM Using 1/2" elastic was the waist area is not a good idea. It will tend to cut into your waist area. It would be better to use 3/4" or 1" elastic for that area. ------ Judy |

Date: 12/10/12 9:30 AM I agree with Judy Kski. Not only would the 1/2 inch cut into your waist, it probably would not be enough to support a pair of long pajammies. |

Date: 12/10/12 9:37 AM What kind of elastic , knit or woven good for light weight fabric like silk? Thanks.
I used something that was not soft enough and needles broke when I sew through the elastic! -- Edited on 12/11/12 8:29 AM -- |
