I have used the Freezer Paper ironed onto muslin and this works Good -- BUT at the risk of your printer :-)

Since our laser jet costs a TON more than some Quilt Labels I found these and thought I would share them - The Federal law also states that content and care (washing) instructions should be on your tag but Only if you are selling to the "public" :-)

I've been looking for these myself; thank you for posting. Now, where could I put washing instructions? On the back? On another label?

I'm not real keen on quilt labels, but once in a while I will put one on a quilt. When I do, I prefer to embroider them.

I am totally into making my own labels as they make the quilt more personal. I also like to document a little information so that in the case the quilt is still around in 100 years or so, the provenience can be identified. I use the Pigma pens and either draw an image or just write a description and who it's made for, my name, date and location. I also name my quilts. The name is inspired by who the quilt is going too.

Nice those who can embroidery it on!!

Yes, I purchase various labels for Care Instructions. So depending on what I'm making, where I'm selling I have 100% cotton, Made in the USA, Machine wash cold, Tumble Dry Low or Hang to Dry

I'll see if I can't find my bookmark for these hmm CTSUSA comes to mind, but I'll check 1st.

Anyone can embroider a label. If I couldn't do it by machine, I'd do it by hand. I don't trust the fabric pens to not fade after the years pass.

I machine embroider my quilt labels too. I don't attach a label to every quilt I make, but I definitely add personalized labels to the quilts I make for my grandchildren, just so they will always remember how much I love them.

Hmmm.... I never thought of this. I cut out the care instructions of the batting & put them in a ziploc bag & pin to the quilt. I buy labels from Colorful Images that have my name & stitch those to the back. ....Style 55 is what I order from Colorful Images.
This is an interesting topic.

Another DIY embroiderer here. Besides my name, I put the quilt title and date on my labels. I always put a hanging sleeve on all my quilts, regardless of size, and the label data gets stitched on that. As I use ummmm, rather old (97-108 yo) machines, I have to FM embroider my info.
