Bernina 440 QEE - How to Adjust Thread Break Sensor - HELP!!! troubleshooting

Is there a way to adjust the thread break sensor (upper)? It does not beep and goes for quite a few stitches before it stops. My stabilizer is getting chewed up from the machine going so far before stopping.

If this is happening quite a bit, I'd say it's your thread and/or needle. What thread and needle are you using?
