Date: 12/20/12 0:51 AM Not sure if any of you saw this on Embroidery Library, but they have posted a few snowflake designs free for download with a request to make a few for the children of Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut. You can read all the details here.
I think this is a wonderful idea and if you can pass this along to any fellow embroiders, that would be great. It's a wonderful cause and even better that we can help with something we love doing! ------ Babylock Ellisimo Gold

ThinkGeek: "E-mail has been around since before computers. At first, e-mails were written on rocks and thrown at neighbors. CC-ing a rock e-mail could be dangerous for an entire village. Then, e-mails were written on paper and put in weird paper things called envelopes and the postal system delivered them. This was slow. Finally, e-mail as we know it came around." |

Date: 12/24/12 5:07 AM I made 20 small snowflakes for the children and 6 medium size for the teachers. Will be sending them out by Dec 27. The PTSA would like them no later than Jan 13. I got my snowflakes from Embroidery Library. I made one snowflake for my tree. |

Date: 12/24/12 11:16 AM I just started working on them. I have the bigger snowflakes so it's time consuming. My goal is 26 but I will send what I have if I can't make the 26. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |

Date: 12/25/12 2:17 AM The small ones takes about 27 minutes at 600 spm. It takes a few good hours to complete 26 and coffee to stay awake watching your machine work. It feels good what I did.. From what I read they are going to hang them in the classrooms. |

Date: 12/25/12 4:20 PM I made 2 so far. For one of them I got some really pretty metallic-ey thin thread and had so much trouble! I quit and trimmed the edges.
I'll stick with the plain thread, that was very frustrating! I had so many nests underneath I was about to go crazy! ------ Cathryn |

Date: 12/27/12 11:45 PM I stayed away from metallic threads. I used sulky 1127 and give the snowflakes an old time lace look. Light pink embroidery thread looks nice too. |
