Measurements: 34 HB/36 FB (34C bra)/27.5/36 (and working hard to keep it that way.)
Machines: Sewing (Janome Memory Craft 3000 and Kenmore 158 Series machine), Serger (Babylock Imagine), Embroidery (Janome 300E)
If you think your sewing is better than everyone else's around here, get out of my way b****. I hate sewing snobs.

4 members like this. Date: 12/26/12 9:55 AM Oh, God, in 2013, please (please!) help me to be slow to speak and quick to listen! I really need to change!
In 2012, I was inspired by Shane to make my first quilt. Highly ugly and highly prized!
In 2012, it took me a year of work on the Stella McCartney raincoat. Still not finished, not that THAT'S kept me from WEARING IT.
I made Giving Bunnies; left one in Hoboken, NJ. I sewed a Scotty Dog stuffie for a gift drive. I sewed mittens for the dear children of Newtown, Ct.
I broke through the resistance and COMPLETELY oiled my machine. A few times!
I still love sewing and I am so grateful for that: so grateful that I enjoy a craft that is SO INSANELY USEFUL and adds so much richness to my life!
Thanks, everyone on PR for a year of fun, wildly helpful advice, unbeatable experience and most generous emotional support! I love you, man!

Date: 12/26/12 9:57 AM I want to keep it simple:
1. eat more veggies (I eat tons of fruit) and walk every day
2. use my sewing, serger/coverstitch and embroidery machines more
3. plan more outings with my girls!
Happy New Year! |

2 members like this. Date: 12/27/12 9:33 AM It's still early enough to count today (or to make today count) to say that there are 5 days remaining in 2012. Yesterday I made some progress to restoring order to my home (if one is not entertaining during the holidays, there is no incentive to put the house in order) and was thinking about this thread. There are some things I really do need to accomplish in the coming year.
1. home: recreate my own version of the nest so that home is indeed my respite
2. sewing: do that ~ for me; move my sewing room to the 1st floor study; as of the 1st of the year, only buy what is needed to complete a project (this does not mean I will be madly adding to any and all stashes between now and year end) ;-)
3. find something meaningful to do with some of my excess time
Following through on any of these or parts thereof will be a major accomplishment in the coming year. ------ "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." Anais Nin
