Simplicity 4014 Lining Necessary?

If my fabric will not be see through or very thin and has body, is there a reason why this should be lined. I can understand lining the coat, but the dress? I live in the southwest and lining would make this dress too hot. Thank you for your help.

On wovens I'll do a partial lining in cotton sometimes, other times I'll use bias binding or facings, depending on the look I want. I'll definitely do the dress without the lining...and since Hancock's has a Simplicity sale starting tomorrow, I'll get the pattern then. Only hope that it's not a discontinued style.
