Found the Vogue Sewing Book! Books & Über-cute patterns!

Just got back from post-holiday shopping at DSM and found some fabulous treasures! At the Half Price Books store I found the famous--or INFAMOUS?!--"Vogue Sewing" book which seems to be on every sewists most recommended reading list! I tried searching for it a few years ago, all for not, but today...there it was, waiting for me! My edn. is a revised and updated end. from 1982. I've been skimming through it, and already the directions for the various seam finishes could be much fuller and more detailed! The illustrations do not help much. The other equally large reference tome I purchased was Adele P. Margolis's "The Encyclopedia of Sewing" circa. 1987! These will go nicely right alongside my 1961 edn. of the "Better Homes & Garden's Sewing Book" that I picked up last Summer for 50 cents! (If I hadn't have walked across the Highway, I wouldn't have found it.) Oh, and I also found the CUTEST coat pattern at Wal-Mart that I plan to sew when my skills are strong enough. Hmmm....now, considering I'm a blue-eyed ginger, what color scheme should I go with for this jacket? Any ideas? Hmmmm...the inside flap of the "Vogue Sewing" contains a coupon good for my choice of any pattern! I wonder if they will still honor it? I used to have a copy kicking around somewhere. Might be worth it for you to source on on Amazon or find it on interlibrary loan.
