I am hoping someone out there has suggestions, or perhaps has had the same problem and found a solution. I cannot get the Lower Looper threaded on my Baby Lock Imagine serger! Grrrr. The Upper Looper threads with no problem, but I can't get the thread to "jet" through for the Lower Looper I know I have all the right buttons pushed because the Upper Looper threads okay, I have made sure I have the switch moved to the right for Lower Looper threading, I have more than the recommended 1" in the port, but no joy. I have shot a blast of canned air into the port thinking maybe there was some lint in there blocking things, I have used bees wax on the first inch or so of the thread so it is "stiff" and easy to get in the port, but I ran the thread between my fingers to remove any excess wax before inserting it in the port. My machine is about 3 years old, but doesn't have many "miles" on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated . . . I have a project I want to finish before I get any grayer

I can't help but think the wax is sticking in the tube, even if you think you removed residue. Is there a thin wire or pipecleaner you can run through there to clean any possible lint? I would follow up with some thread dipped in rubbing alcohol to remove any sizing buildup in the tube.

I've never used wax on my thread. If it is stiff it might not be bending when it needs to.

Thanks for the suggestions - I will try the alcohol, it makes sense. I actually found a way around the problem after reading the manual online. It showed a picture of a looper threader (long thin flexible wire with a loop on the end) that actaully came with the serger, showing putting the wire into the port until the end came out at the lower looper and the loop of the wire was at the port, then threading the serger thread through the loop and then pulling the wire/thread all the way through to the eye of the lower looper! Presto, it worked, although I felt some resistance as i was feeding the wire through, so there might have been some wax residue or lint in there. Ahhhh, the power of reading instructions, ahaha Thanks for your quick responses, Now back to my project, and by the way, I love pattern review

Have you tried air-threading that looper since you put the wire thru?
I'm wondering if that solved the problem.
If it still doesn't work, i'd try using the wire again with a thicker thread like wooly nylon or some such.

Thanks for our suggestion, I had thought I would try using the jet threading after I finish this project, I don't want to jinx things now they are working so well. I will post when I do try it, Thanks all.

I lost the wire looper the first day of ownership! The Hoover didn't find it, so I know it is still somewhere in the sewing room.

Good job. My first suggestion would have been to use that wire thingy. Mine is in a snack size baggy and lives in my sewing tool drawer.

my other thought was to look at the looper and be sure it is closing when you set for threading. It should move to the right so the thread can come all the way through. Possibly one is closing correctly and the other is not?
