First, I hope this is the correct area to ask my question, if not, I trust someone will "bump" it along! and thanks!
I am sewing some potholders using Warm Tater batting and my bobbin area is constantly getting fluffed up. I can clean the bobbin case itself, and my manual shows that it should be possible to "lift the case up and out" but I find it impossible to do so. n There is a metal arm blocking the case from coming up and out.
Is there anyone out there with the same machine who has successfully removed the bobbin case? I hesitate to do more sewing as I am quite sure the area under there is full of the batting dust bunnies.
Thanks so much! I should add that I have been on line for about 1 hour and now know lots of sites to get a bobbin case, but alas no info on removing same!
thanks again, darlene

Do you have the manual - usually it will show how to remove bobbin case and how to reinsert.

It should be on page 45 of your manual.

You have to take the needle plate off unscrewing the 2 screws on it. When the needle plate is off then you can lift the bobbin case out of the machine to clean the bobbin area well with the little brush included with the machine.

Thanks, for your help, and I wish I could just lift it up! (I did remove the plate, no worries there, I've been doing that after almost every project.)
There is something blocking the case from coming up. The manual picture (page 5.1) does show it out, but I cannot get around the small arm on the upper left, held on by two phillips screws. I have even tried pushing against the hook race to allow the case to slide around the arm, but I cannot get the thing to move.
I really don't want to pay for a service visit for something that should be so simple, at least according to the manual!
Maybe tomorrow I can try to contact Pfaff by phone; worth a try!

OKAY, STOP THE PRESSES!!!

I DON'T KNOW WHAT EXACTLY I DID, BUT I GOT THE THING OUT. I'M PRETTY SURE I PULLED THE CASE OUT MORE TOWARD ME.

anyway, I have been successful and I am so happy 'cause I could stuff a pillow with all the fluff!
Whew, thanks you two for your input.

Okay, in the category of "if I only had a brain," once getting into the area and starting to clean, there was a piece of broken needle in the hole, about 1/4" long -- I'm pretty sure that is what was blocking the case from coming out. I suppose that once I kept moving the case around it also moved the needle piece free and POP the case removed very easily.
I didn't even remember a needle breaking until I saw it.
Oh boy, live and learn.
Sheesh!

I cannot tell you how many times I have had issues taking the bobbin case out of my various machines. I actually do it often - sometimes a breeze, sometimes frustrating. I always have my manual out trying to figure stuff out. I agree, I love my PR friends for their advice.
