Date: 1/7/13 11:41 AM I was just looking through blouse and top patterns for the major pattern companies and see one theme repeating itself. cowl necks and scarf style hems. I wore that when it was original back in my late teens and 20's. It always amazes me how fashion just repeats every 20, 30 years or so. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com

Much less fitting fuss, which makes things oh so easy to sew. That's when I learned to sew, and didn't understand what the problem was as styles started getting more fitted in the 90's. Then I remembered the rare bust cup adjustments I had to do back in the day...... after that everthing needed a BCA. Now again, I'm seeing sometimes getting away with none. I love the looser shapes and I can finally make tops that are still wearable when weight shifts occur. I'll be watching the sales at JoAnns! Thanks for bringing this to my intention...one can never have too many patterns!

I have three very large storage boxes full of 70's/80's Vogue patterns and periodically when I am searching for more space to house (conceal ) my ever increasing fabric stash I decide they must go. I open a box determined to be ruthless and inevitably waste an hour or so day dreaming about when I made/wore that particular design. The history of my late teens/twenties lie in those patterns - but one thing I am always certain about is that I will NEVER go there again with those shoulders. A wise older woman once said to me "If you wore it the first time, don't go there again"
