I wore that when it was original back in my late teens and 20's. It always amazes me how fashion just repeats every 20, 30 years or so. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |

Date: 1/7/13 12:57 PM It's interesting, yes.....So my question is: If I liked it then, can I like it again at age 65??? Maybe some aspects and modifications, right? I will check those patterns out and see if there are some I can't resist.... |

Date: 1/7/13 12:58 PM Well, personally I'm loving the updated looser styles. Much less fitting fuss, which makes things oh so easy to sew. That's when I learned to sew, and didn't understand what the problem was as styles started getting more fitted in the 90's. Then I remembered the rare bust cup adjustments I had to do back in the day...... after that everthing needed a BCA. Now again, I'm seeing sometimes getting away with none. Subject: the 70s early 80s are back Date: 1/7/13 2:07 PM I'm loving them also. Fitting and me just don't get along. I can do basic but not major alterations. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |

I love the looser shapes and I can finally make tops that are still wearable when weight shifts occur. I'll be watching the sales at JoAnns! Thanks for bringing this to my intention...one can never have too many patterns!

Date: 1/8/13 1:02 AM Our JA's in FL is starting to carry Kwik Sew. Of course, patterns can't be purchased using a coupon and they've never gone on sale so I won't buy them there. ------ Judy |

I have three very large storage boxes full of 70's/80's Vogue patterns and periodically when I am searching for more space to house (conceal ) my ever increasing fabric stash I decide they must go. I open a box determined to be ruthless and inevitably waste an hour or so day dreaming about when I made/wore that particular design. The history of my late teens/twenties lie in those patterns - but one thing I am always certain about is that I will NEVER go there again with those shoulders. A wise older woman once said to me "If you wore it the first time, don't go there again" |

Date: 1/8/13 7:20 AM lol I religiously tore all the shoulder pads out of anything I brought with them. They would put them in clothing that normally wouldn't even have them. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |
