I am making View C. Vogue 8648 For direction 11, it is talking about pining lining to the bodice. And then it says: "Stitch neck edge, breaking stitching at small circles and squares." What?? I don't understand what it means by breaking stitching. And the drawing doesn't help me. Can anybody help me? Thank you!

Move one stitch length or so and resume. the small "break" will ensure that your corners turn nice and crisply. see below for an example, the small gap in the dashes is the "break" --------------------- --------------------------- ------ Viking Lily 545 Viking Ruby Bernina Activa 210 Brother 1034d

I don't have a Fix button, but I certainly had a backstitch button. Honestly, I have never even heard of a Fix button before. I so appreciate you taking the time to explain this term to me. I was really just not getting the pattern instructions. I feel that I have so much to learn when it comes to sewing!

There were many steps I learned from the class and many I can't see myself every using (I hate hand sewing!).

Susan is very thorough and doesn't assume any skills beyond those of a beginner, and she takes you step by step through making this specific dress.

Along with the excellent guidance from kkkkaty, this might also be directing you to leave a gap through which you can turn the lining to the inside of the bodice. If the space between the circles/squares is more like a couple of inches (instead of just one or two stitches), that would be my guess. Good luck! ------ ~Gem in the prairie
