I am happy to see that they listened to feedback. I had done a review of the 160 which is a nice basic machine but did not have the needle up/down which I have to use. ------ Brother PC420

Date: 1/9/13 10:21 AM It's got a decent stitch package with it. Could have added some more feet though. I wonder how it sews. It's a pretty machine.Singer seems like it's trying to improve it's brand now. What is it Viking, Singer and Pfaff all owned by the same company. Maybe they are starting to design Singers with some of the high end features the Vikings and Pfaff have. From the feedback I've heard though the embroidery machines still leave much to be desired. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |

Date: 1/9/13 1:02 PM Endless button size, a buttonhole underplate and 7 point feed dogs with box feed are a few highlights listed in the Product Sheet. It also says you can simply drop the bobbin in without having to pull up the thread before sewing! You can see all the decorative stitches in the Instruction manual. You have to wade through three languages, though.

Date: 1/9/13 1:23 PM It doesn't look bad at all. I got the Singer Signature on the last Today's Special in August. I love my machine, and use it near daily. You get 30 days to try it out, so you at least know if it works for you. I think the newer Singers have a rep they don't deserve. Mine is somewhat higher on the food chain then this one, but if I was looking for a good starter machine I would consider this one. Have to watch the show at least, but I don't need another machine right now-or at least I can't afford the machines I would like right now

Date: 1/9/13 4:07 PM What a pretty SM! It seems to be a machine that would make a great gift! I don't need any but still can't wait to watch Darlene that day! Thanks for the heads up! ------ Thank you Lord for my Mother who taught me the joy of sewing. |

Date: 1/9/13 4:21 PM I like that body shape much better in the white (compared to the black "vintage revival" model). Very pretty! ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! And Rupert (Pfaff 2023), Baby (BL Enlighten), Victor (BLCS), Ash (Bernina 350SE), Pal (Bernina 530), Kee (Bernina 750) and the Featherteen Flock!
Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you. |

Date: 1/9/13 5:25 PM Why does it seem to be priced higher than the Quantum Stylist 9960 that Amazon sells for $329? (that has more features). |
