Is it possible to change the default setting on a Bernina 630 or 635 to always stop in the needle down position?

I am pretty sure it is not. Why would you want it to? You can rock back with your heel to move it up or down.

Just a matter of what I am used to with another machine.

Does pressing the button until you see the up/down arrow change on the screen work? It works that way on my 550QE and remembers it until I change it again. Not sure if that was a new feature with the latest models.

Just press and hold the needle up/down button. It will work until you turn the machine off.

That is not changing the default though. I always wished I could have changed the default stitch length on my 440 but I had to remember to re set it every time I turned on the machine. That is something I like about my 185e. Maybe there is a way on the 630 to save settings to permanent memory. It would have to be a sequence I think. This would work on my 185e, and I think as the models go up in price they go up in capability too. This would not have worked with my 440.
