Did you see the date on the article, 2 years ago and their needles are still in the stores. So maybe the recovered or someone brought them and kept the name? These are the only needles I've used for years.

I did see that. Just thought it was so interesting.
I have loads of their needles and they've always worked well for me too.
I just hope that the company has resolved their issues and will continue.
Since viewing the Superior Thread Therapy DVD, I've begun exclusively using their Organ Topstitch Needles.
According to them, all you need for your machine are four sizes of the Totstitch needles.
I've had excellent results with them. I love when things are simplified.

It's been a couple of years, and schmetz needles are still being sold.

There are different types of bankruptcy. One provides restructuring the company.

Yea, the restructuring is fairly common. They merge, buy cheap parts outside US, lower costs, make inferior product under same name, customer grows wary, they go under, restructure, move labor overseas, change parts again, etc.
So confusing...

underhanded companies may also use bankruptcy to void a union contract.

Are Schmetz needles still made in Germany? I noticed that the older batches I had were all German made but the newer ones from last few years were made in Mexico. I wonder if the company restructure changed the manufacturing plants?

No one said the co restructured, just that it is one of several types of bankruptcy.
