Date: 1/14/13 7:16 PM Trying my first pattern, kwik sew 2954, a wrap skirt. How do you select size? Would you choose based on waist size over hip size? Seems like it would be huge. In ready to wear clothes, I'm a small or even XS--hip measurements yield that. But if i choose by waist size that would be a medium--and the hips would be really loose. Thanks in advance for advice! |

Date: 1/14/13 9:36 PM For skirts, pants, shorts, use your hip measurement and adjust the waist to make it smaller or larger as needed.
When making a top, you use your upper chest measurement and adjust the full bust. Reason is that shoulders and chest are more difficult to alter than bust and waist. ------ "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." Anais Nin

Date: 1/15/13 0:59 AM With the kwik sew you can start at your hip and trace out to the larger waist size.
Since this is a wrap skirt, the sizing isn't a crucial as a fitted skirt, but I prefer more wrap, than less.
