Babylock 5280E to buy or not to buy.....

I'd like to help her out, but a quick look on eBay shows one that sold a few days ago for $69. I haven't asked her about it yet, don't know if it works or if she even knows if it works (she and hubby do a lot of trading and garage sale shopping) I don't have a serger, but is this one so old it would be a waste of time and money?
