I am new to embroidery and have learned a ton since acquiring my new machine a month ago. I bought an Anita Goodesign Free Standing Lace collection and am enjoying my first projects immensely! Some of the lace designs are quite large and I just discovered a great use of some of the larger designs, but my largest hoop size is 5x7". I do have the larger multi positional hoop, so I was wondering if a design can be created using the multi positional hoop and splitting the design in half. Any suggestions besides trading in my machine for one that can accommodate larger designs? It's not in my budget.

I do not think you can split a FSL design, and I would hesitate to reduce one to a smaller size..

Maybe a veteran digitizer of FSL could answer the question. Have you thought about contacting Anita Goodesign company? or your embroidery machine dealer? They might be able to tell you if it can be split.

You can't really split it as it all needs to be connected to work as lace.

I believe all AnitaGooddesigns come with a resizing program on the CD. I wouldn't split it unless you want to join the two pieces together with a zigzag stitch of some kind.
